RESTORING A PIECE OF HISTORY

In 2017, when the opportunity to purchase one of New Zealand’s oldest boutique vineyards came along, a small group of us agreed that this was the perfect project for us to share our combined skills to create something that would touch our hearts and produce something truly beautiful and lasting - a living work of art.

As time has passed the project has taken on new meaning. As the vineyard continues its restoration journey to its former glory, we now consider ourselves to be more than owners. We believe we are the guardians of a piece of history and it is our responsibility to continue its legacy to create exquisite wine for generations of premium wine lovers to come.

Right from day one our excitement for Dancing Water’s old vines and their potential has not left us. The anticipation each vintage brings is like a painting unfolding before our eyes.

Art of Regeneration

Since 1981, our vines have been a proud part of New Zealand’s winemaking history. We are committed to caring for the land so it flourishes for generations to come.

NATURAL VITALITY

Our regenerative practices nurture the land and bring our wines to life in an exceptional and expressive way.

CERTIFIED SUSTAINABLE

We are proud members of the New Zealand Sustainable Wine Growing program, and we strive to operate with a strong understanding of how our vineyard practices impact the environment.

Hand-tended vines minimise the use of machinery, and gentler practice on the land.

Dryland farming with no irrigation relies solely on natural rainfall. Soil’s ability to hold and release water under the vines.

Cover crops are strategically planted in between rows and on fallow land to enhance soil quality.

Sheep serve as winter labourers to clear excess vegetation. Recycle organic materials throughout the vineyard.
