Georgie Rosé 2024 - North Canterbury

When you open, smell, and taste our 2024 Georgie Rosé, we want it to transport you. Pour a glass – it’s very pale pink – it glistens in the warm sunlight. Let your mind drift – you are staying in a beautiful house in Antibes, on the Côte d’Azur, between Nice and Cannes. The house is set amongst the trees, above the sea at Cap Gros. The streets are quiet in this part of Antibes, there is no traffic noise. You can hear the Mediterranean gently washing against the rocks below. You can smell the sea, and, you can smell la garrigue that surrounds you. Pick up the glass, give it a gentle swirl, inhale deeply. La garrigue is there in the glass for you – hints of pine, wild herbs, summer flowers, rosemary, sage, lavender, thyme. Taste the wine – light, dry, fine, slightly saline, mouth-watering – immediately you imagine a lunch with your friends at a restaurant on the beach at Juan-les Pins - a ragout of seafood, followed by a main of oven roasted dourade. Another swirl, another sniff, another taste – think of the Provençal market in the old town, the beautiful boats in the harbour, the Musée Picasso, Le Fort Carré, a stroll along Plage du Ponteil. Think of warm sun, good friends, swimming in the blood-warm sea, sand between your toes.
